kebab hala (slow braised beef)

this beef is slowly cooked with onions and spices to achieve a melt in your mouth meat with loads of flavour from the onions. 

3 large onions finely chopped
1 kg gravy beef
1 tablespoon of sugar
salt and pepper
1 bay leaf

in a deep heavy lined pot. saute onions in butter or oil until golden. add beef and stir. add spices then cover with just enough water. keep on low heat until all the beef has broken down and your left with a thick onion gravy.

  2. wsalams sis the onion and sugar make it sweet. i use shah kabsa spice for the rice but i have a similar recipe called kabsa rice under sides.
